Keeping busy

For some reason it seems like I've used that post title before. These days I am keeping unbelievably busy so it makes even more sense now. I've been playing around with two books and I'm about a third of the way through both of them. The general paranormal one, read that as vampire based, book was going along pretty smoothly and I know where I want it to go, but I got to a point where I wasn't sure if I liked where it started. I'm not sure why but something is a little off and I really wanted to focus back in on Rhea's story so I switched up.

It took me a little while to decide exactly what was going to happen to Rhea. Calypso and Nani were really easy for me to get out, but I've never really liked Rhea - that's changed in the last week, thankfully. I joked with a friend this week that Rhea's story was going to end up being a short sentence or two in the front of the next book in the series because I was so blocked. I won't say exactly what the line was, but it portrayed what will eventually happen, plus my previous dislike of the character herself.

After sitting down and talking things over with Rhea, I learned where her moodiness came from and I began to understand her more. She really is a very nice goddess when you learn about how her previous heartbreak has made her a woman that hides behind a wall of grumpiness that keeps people from getting too close. It will probably take me another week or two to get the full story out, but this will really be the book in the series that sets up the rest of them. The plot that was hinted at and mentioned briefly in the two previous book really starts picking up, making for a lot of trouble.

Along with the book chaos going on in my head, winter has hit and that has caused me to spend a lot of time at hockey games and attempting to learn to skate myself. The skating lessons are slow going, but no bones have been broken, which I'm taking as a good sign. I still can't stop, but boy can I skate in a big circle.

Time to get back to work, but before I sign off I wanted to share a link to a short interview on IndieAuthorLand.com that I did for Searching for Home. I've also got a Read & Review post on Goodreads for the book and a Rafflecopter giveaway for it.

Happy November -- Only a Day Late

So, I've been multi-tasking a lot the past couple of weeks. I had an arts and crafts project I had to get done for work that took quite a lot of my spare time from me, but I did manage to get about a third of the way through one of my warring books and most of the plot worked out in my head for the other.

During the time since my last post, I also spent time finishing up Searching for Home, which may be available at the usual places now, Amazon and Smashwords. After reading it a few more times, I'm really thinking it might be the start of another series. There seems like there is a lot more that can be told and I just need to figure out if it will be from other points of views, or just the main character from this book. Hopefully, some of the readers out there can help me decide which way to go.

For now, my mind is semi-focused on finishing the two books I'm working on and then moving back to Avery's world to clean those five books up and get that sixth book finally written. It's been on the list for a while and I think it's finally time. I've grown so much since I started that series that I really think I can do a lot of polishing and make them better. It will probably be a project that gets started around the new year, as long as no other ideas drive me crazy.

Well, I got to get back to trying to realign my vocal chords. I may have cheered just a little too loud at the hockey game I went to last night, but since the first star of the game was injured and couldn't make it back out on the ice, I had to cheer loud enough so he'd hear me in the locker room. That's my story anyway :)
